26(B)(5). Both versions carry the same 2-part standard. First, a 100-foot buffer: the structures and the activities they house, not just the building itself, have to stay at least 100 feet from any property zoned for residential purposes, matching the buffer used for the adjoining animal grooming shop use. Second, an operating standard the grooming use does not carry: every animal has to be kept inside an enclosed building, and the clinic must maintain adequate sound and odor control, which addresses the barking and waste-handling concerns that come with overnight boarding and surgical recovery that a walk-in grooming shop does not raise.

Because this is a listed permitted use in the industrial districts rather than a special or conditional use, a veterinary practice that meets the 100-foot buffer and the enclosed-building standard does not need Board of Zoning Appeals approval or a City Council special-use vote; it can proceed through the normal building permit process for its district. A vet practice that wants a location inside 100 feet of residential zoning, or that plans an outdoor kennel run, does not fit this permitted use and would need relief from the standard districts, not this section.
