Marietta's noise ordinance (Part 10, Chapter 10-6) sets objective decibel limits measured at or within the property line of the receiving property. Residential, commercial, institutional, and public space properties must stay at or below 65 dBA (84 dBC) from 7 AM to 11 PM and 60 dBA (79 dBC) from 11 PM to 7 AM. Industrial/manufacturing properties are held to 70 dBA at all times. Impulsive sounds use the fast response setting and daytime limits are increased by 10 dBA. Exemptions include municipal events, public safety vehicles, emergency signaling, and burglar alarms that terminate within 5β10 minutes.
