Section 9-4-040(E) of the Marietta Code lets the city council designate specific streets, posted with signs, where commercial vehicles are restricted. The section defines a 'commercial vehicle' as any motorized vehicle designed or used to transport goods, wares, merchandise or mail, covering everything from delivery vans to tractor-trailers. On a designated street, a commercial vehicle may travel only while actually receiving goods or making a delivery along that specific street, and the driver must enter and exit by the nearest intersecting street rather than using the restricted street as a through route.

Before posting a restriction, city council policy requires considering reasonable alternate routes for commercial traffic. 00 and up to 30 days' imprisonment, with bond amounts set by the chief judge's bond schedule.
