Marietta's zoning code (§716.09) prohibits unapproved commercial business operations in residential zones. Following metro Atlanta standard, one commercial self-propelled vehicle with a manufacturer's rating of three-quarters ton or less may be parked on a residential lot. Heavier commercial trucks, tractor-trailers, or vehicles with commercial advertising on residential property are typically prohibited. Any commercial vehicle must park on a hardened surface, not on grass or unpaved areas. Complaints about commercial vehicles in residential areas are handled by Code Enforcement.
