150 of the San Buenaventura Municipal Code, Article 2, sets the physical security standard for exterior doors on commercial buildings. 110 limits its reach to new construction and to existing buildings when occupancy or the occupant changes, and only within Uniform Building Code Occupancy Groups E (hazardous storage, woodworking, repair garages), F (gas stations, offices, retail, restaurants under 100 occupants, printing plants) and G (ice plants, power and cold-storage plants); homes, apartments, hotels, schools and similar occupancies fall outside the chapter entirely. 220 governs front doors specifically: a single front door must carry either a double-cylinder deadbolt lock or a cylinder deadbolt lock that unlocks with a key from the outside paired with an emergency exit locking device, and every such bolt needs a minimum throw of one inch.

Double doors require the same hardware on the active leaf, while the inactive leaf needs flush bolts at head and foot, installed so they are concealed when the doors are shut. Glass front doors or adjacent sidelights need iron bars spaced no more than five inches apart, or, if the barrier sits outside, rounded-head flush bolts; thin wood panels under the code's thickness threshold must be backed with 16-gauge sheet steel. 140 requires written notice of any deficiency and a compliance deadline before enforcement proceeds.
