Full Breakdown

Sec. 11-1-5.04's dimensional chart sets maximum structure height by residential district. AE, CE, SF-1, SF-2, SF-3, and TH districts cap out at 42 feet with no stated story limit; MH, Manufactured Housing and 2F, Two-Family districts are limited to 28 feet. Multi-family districts allow more: MF-16 tops out at 42 feet/3 stories and MF-22 at 56 feet/4 stories. The same chart adds an extra foot of yard setback for every 3 feet a nonresidential building exceeds 50 feet, but that rule doesn't apply to these residential caps.

Violations & Fines

Constructing a residential structure taller than its district's maximum height -- 28, 42, or 56 feet depending on zoning -- violates Sec. 11-1-5.04 and can be denied a Certificate of Occupancy.
