Outagamie County, WI Building Setbacks & Zoning: Structure Height Limits (2026)

Sec. 54-157 caps building height at 35 feet or 2½ stories for single-family homes in the RSF single-family residential district, and the limit holds across all four dimensional scenarios in the section, platted or not, sewered or not. The same cap applies to other permitted or permissible structures in the district under subsection (2). Multifamily buildings in the RMF district get taller allowances, up to 45 feet before triggering added yard depth, but a single-family lot on RSF-zoned land is held to the 2½-story line. The cap applies only in unincorporated towns that adopted county zoning; Appleton and the county's other cities set their own height limits.
