Unincorporated Hinds County has no separate license for home-based trades; a home business operates instead under the home occupation rules in Section 416 and Article II of the Zoning Ordinance, and those rules are written in a way that keeps out anything resembling a repair shop. Article II defines a home occupation as a use that requires no additional parking space and where no electrical or mechanical equipment is used other than that of a design accommodating the residence, with no employees besides residents and domestic help.
