Full Breakdown

Sangamon County's zoning code treats work done on vehicles at a residence as a home occupation. The business may use no more than 25% of the dwelling's floor area, or up to 400 square feet if run from an accessory structure. Outside storage is allowed only on Agriculture-zoned lots of five acres or more, inside a fenced area no larger than 400 square feet, and unattached trailers stored outdoors can't exceed 18,000 pounds gross vehicle weight.
