" Every licensed vehicle must carry a Township-issued decal or insignia in a prominent location plus the company's name permanently affixed; unmarked vehicles cannot legally tow. Official towers must staff service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a maximum twenty-minute response time once the Chief of Police or a designee calls, and cannot subcontract or assign the work to anyone else. Licenses run a calendar year, expiring December 31, and renewal applications are due by September 1 of the prior year; the Chief of Police has 45 days to recommend approval or denial to the Clerk.

Applicants need at least three years of municipal towing experience anywhere in New Jersey, must list every other municipality or agency they have towed for, and must disclose any prior license revocation, suspension, or denial. Storage facilities must sit within five miles of the Township border, be fenced to a minimum of six feet with at least 5,000 square feet dedicated solely to the tow operation, carry ten-inch signage visible from the road, and offer inside storage for at least two vehicles measuring 245 by 96 inches.

Vehicles must carry warning devices visible from 1,000 feet, amber light bars, safety chains, a fire extinguisher, sand or drying compound, and ANSI-compliant safety vests for crew working roadside.
