Ridgewood prohibits all classes of cannabis establishments, including cultivation, manufacturing, wholesale, distribution, retail, and delivery operations within Village limits.
Following New Jersey's Cannabis Regulatory, Enforcement Assistance, and Marketplace Modernization Act (CREAMMA), Ridgewood adopted a local ordinance that opts out of permitting any cannabis establishment within Village limits. The ordinance prohibits the establishment or operation of any business engaged in the cultivation, manufacture, sale, wholesale, distribution, or delivery of cannabis products anywhere within Ridgewood. The Village had previously enacted an October 2018 ordinance banning marijuana sales, which was reaffirmed and expanded under CREAMMA opt-out authority.
Operating any prohibited cannabis business in Ridgewood violates the zoning ordinance and exposes the operator to enforcement, fines, injunctive relief, and license denial.
