In the City of Coconut Creek, Broward County, Florida, Section 13-424 bans nonliving objects such as rock gardens, concrete buttons and concrete pyramids from swale areas, the strip between the road pavement and the sidewalk. Swales cannot be paved or covered with anything other than sod, and only flush sprinkler heads, authorized curb cuts and driveways are excepted.
