Bike Lane Rules
In National City, riding a bicycle on a sidewalk in any business or residence district is unlawful unless the City Council has authorized it by resolution. Chapter 11.52 makes each violation an infraction, and the Chief of Police can impound a bicycle for up to thirty days. Parents and guardians who knowingly let a child break the chapter face the same infraction.
