Obstruction Rules
In the City of Novi, Code § 22-90 makes it unlawful to place or erect any type of obstruction on a public way or on the passageway to a building, with narrow exceptions for authorized temporary barriers or warning signs used to safeguard the public. Because the code does not designate the offense a civil infraction, a violation defaults to a misdemeanor under Section 1-11.
