Richland lets a residential developer earn extra density by voluntarily widening wetland or wildlife habitat buffers beyond the zoning minimum. Under Richland Municipal Code § 22.10.405, the extra buffer's share of total site area is calculated, doubled, and applied to the unit count on the noncritical portion of the property.
