Springfield bans specific tree species, including elms, cottonwood, mulberry, weeping willow, and fruit trees, from public parkways under City Code Sec. 99.22. Trees must be planted centered in the parkway, and parkways under 4.5 feet wide can't get any species expected to reach 30 feet at maturity.
