Sugar Land bans permanently fixed objects taller than three feet inside a visibility triangle or street right-of-way, and requires trees and shrubs to be pruned clear of the zone between three and eight feet above the street, sidewalk or parking lot. Public sidewalks need eight feet of overhead clearance, and fire hydrants get a three-foot clear zone.
