Syracuse property owners and tenants must give the water division's meter repair shop immediate notice of any stoppage, leak, or other defect in their water meter under City Code Sec. 16-89. Failing to promptly repair a leaky, broken, frozen, or defective service line also costs money: Sec. 16-69 bars any water-bill abatement for water lost to an unrepaired leak.
