Barking Dogs

The Dog Control Law of the Town of Union declares any dog that engages in loud howling, barking, crying or whining so as to unreasonably annoy any person a public nuisance. It is unlawful to own or possess such a dog. The code prints no decibel level or time limit, and fines start at $25 under § 71-11.

It shall be unlawful for any owner of any dog in the Town to: ... B. Permit or allow such dog to be a public nuisance. It is hereby expressly declared that any dog which engages in loud howling, barking, crying or whining so as to unreasonably annoy any person is a public nuisance. It shall be unlawful for any person to own or possess a dog which is a public nuisance as herein defined.
