Encampment Sanitation
Ada County's Boise River Camping Ordinance makes it unlawful to camp on any sidewalk, alley, public right-of-way, or under any bridge within 200 feet of the Boise River. Adopted because campsites there were dumping sewage and debris into the waterway, the law lets the Sheriff post a 24-hour abatement notice before pursuing misdemeanor charges.
