Farm Nuisance Protection
Ada County exempts land zoned in a rural area district from its own Nuisance Ordinance. Code section 5-9-3, as amended by Ordinance 1014 effective January 20, 2026, now excludes rural-zoned property outright, shielding ordinary farm and ranch activity from county public-nuisance enforcement.

It is unlawful for any person to create, cause, maintain or knowingly allow to exist a public nuisance on any premises or real property which the person owns, rents, leases, occupies or has charge or possession of in unincorporated Ada County except property zoned in a rural area district as established by Title 8 of this code.
