Barking Dogs

In unincorporated Bartholomew County, § 92.04(D) makes it unlawful to keep or harbor an animal that creates a nuisance, including one that barks, howls or yelps loudly, frequently or habitually enough to annoy or disturb the neighborhood. Section 92.01 defines NUISANCE to include a dog that barks consistently, whether chasing vehicles or simply disturbing the peace. Animal Control or the Sheriff's Office can issue a warning and cite the owner.

Musical groups and anyone using amplified sound equipment need the County Park Board's advance approval before performing in any Bartholomew County park, playground or recreational center.
