Farm Nuisance Protection

Chatham County shields ordinary farm operations from noise-nuisance enforcement rather than granting farms a broad nuisance exemption. County Code § 92.05(I) exempts agricultural equipment, including poultry-farming equipment, operated per manufacturer specifications, and § 92.05(J) exempts natural sounds from farm animals or animal husbandry, as long as the activity does not violate local zoning.
