Pool Permits
Darlington County requires a building permit before constructing a residential swimming pool in the unincorporated county. Sec. 8-38 adopts the 2000 International Residential Code, including Appendix G on swimming pools, spas and hot tubs, by reference, and Sec. 8-77 bars anyone from building any structure, including a pool, without first obtaining a permit from the building codes enforcement officer.
