Elkhart County requires every precious metal dealer operating in the unincorporated area to register with the County Sheriff once every 12 months for each permanent place of business. Registration discloses the dealer's name, business address, and any information the Sheriff demands, plus a $50 fee. A dealer with several locations still pays only one $50 fee total.
