Louisiana allows consumer (1.4G) fireworks under La. R.S. 51:651 et seq., subject to State Fire Marshal regulation. In Lafayette Parish, possessing, using, selling, or igniting fireworks is illegal within the city limits of Lafayette and the other incorporated municipalities (Broussard, Carencro, Duson, Scott, Youngsville). Fireworks may only be used in unincorporated Lafayette Parish during a tightly defined window: June 25 through July 5 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., extending until 1 a.m. on July 5. Minors under 18 cannot possess or buy fireworks.
