LaPorte County charges a building permit fee for solar panel installations in the unincorporated county under § 151.27(X): $125 for the first 10 kilowatts of capacity, plus $25 for each additional 10 kilowatts at the same site. The permit itself is required under the county's general work-permit rule at § 151.26(B).
