Loudoun County's Fire Prevention Code bars open-flame grills, hibachis, gas grills, manufactured fireplaces and firepits within 15 feet of any apartment building, condominium, commercial business, health care facility, or housing for the aged or physically/mentally impaired. One- and two-family dwellings are the only exception, so the ban mainly hits balconies and patios at multifamily and senior-housing properties.
