Placing a mailbox, driveway culvert or any other improvement in a Lubbock County road right-of-way is prohibited without prior written approval from the Lubbock County Transportation Administration. Section 7.3.13 of the county's Subdivision Regulations also sets a minimum 8-foot clearance for mailboxes and similar improvements near the road.
