Peoria County bans skateboarding anywhere on the courthouse grounds. Section 7.3-27(c) of the county code stops anyone from riding, rolling or coasting a skateboard inside the courthouse, across the courthouse square, or on any sidewalk or roadway in or around that square, and it bars roller blades and roller skates too if they risk damaging county property. The sheriff enforces the rule and can eject violators on the spot.
