Food Truck Permits
Any mobile restaurant, defined as a restaurant operating from a movable vehicle, pushcart, trailer or boat that changes location while preparing or selling meals to the public, must hold a permit from the Portage County Health and Human Services Department before operating anywhere in Portage County. Sec. 4.1.5(3) makes operating without one unlawful, and permits expire every June 30.

It is unlawful for any person to operate a mobile restaurant and a service base as defined in section 4.1.3 without first obtaining a permit for that purpose. Such permits shall expire on June 30 except that permits initially issued during the period beginning April 1 and ending on June 30 expire on June 30 of the following year.
