Agricultural Zoning Protection

Porter County zones its unincorporated farmland A1 (General Agriculture) under the 2007 Unified Development Ordinance, permitting crop production, orchards, vineyards, tree farms and livestock raising outright on lots of at least 10 acres. Other construction on A1 land faces a 50-foot front setback, 30-foot side setback and a 35% impervious-surface cap under UDO Chapter 2.
