Barking Dogs
In unincorporated Porter County, a dog or other animal that causes serious annoyance or disturbance to a neighborhood through loud, frequent, habitual or continual barking, howling or yelping is declared a nuisance under County Code Sec. 12-130, and it is unlawful to keep such an animal. The Porter County Sheriff's Department enforces the rule, and violators face a $50.00 fine for each violation.
