Selling or planting invasive running bamboo anywhere in Prince George's County is illegal under Sec. 13-246.04, and an owner who lets it spread onto a neighbor's land without barriers or trenches faces a $500 fine for a first offense and $1,000 for every one after that.

(1)In Prince George's County Council, no person may:(a)sell invasive bamboo;(b)plant invasive bamboo; or(c)allow invasive bamboo to spread to any adjoining property without proper upkeep and appropriate containment measures, including barriers or trenches.
