Short-Term Rentals in Prince George's County, MD (2026)

Prince George's County Code § 5-175.03 (CB-11-2018, § 7A-106(a),(c))

No one shall engage in the business of the short-term rentals without having obtained a license under this Division. … No one shall utilize or list on a hosting platform without a short-term rental license, except as prescribed in section 7A-103 (b).

Prince George's County Code § 5-175.05 (CB-11-2018, § 7A-110(d))

The Department may immediately suspend or revoke a short-term rental license if it constitutes a nuisance as defined in Section 7A-102 or because of any adverse effect to public health, safety, and the general welfare, including excessive noise, traffic, physical activity, public safety, or other good cause.

Prince George's County Code § 5-175.03 & § 5-175.04 (CB-11-2018, §§ 7A-106(d)(1), 7A-107(e))

Shall collect and remit all applicable hotel taxes through the platform … All platforms shall remit all hotel taxes … as outlined in this section and Subtitle 10 Division 8 of the Prince George's County Code … Such quarterly payments shall be made on or before the last days of April, July, October and January in each year.

Owner Occupied means the host and legal owner of a residential dwelling unit who is present during the entire time of the short-term rental. … an individual that will serve as the emergency contact, other than the host, who resides within Prince George's County or within 25 miles … responsible for responding to the short-term rental for any issues.

(15) Attest and ensure that the short-term rental is the permanent residence of the host; … (17) Provide proof of ownership of the short-term rental property; a copy of the host's homestead property tax credit for the location of the short-term rental;
