Rodent Control

In unincorporated Rutherford County, every owner, occupant, tenant or lessee must store garbage in a durable, rust-resistant, rodent-proof, fly-tight container of no more than 35 gallons, and perishable garbage cannot sit in any container longer than one week. County Code section 15-24 separately bars letting solid waste pile up in any way that gives rodents and vermin food or harborage.
