Mobile food units operating in unincorporated Santa Cruz County need a valid food facility permit from the County Health Officer before selling food, and county zoning treats food trucks as a permitted-by-right use in every commercial district. The health permit runs one year, must be renewed within 30 days of expiration, and operating without one is illegal under SCCC Chapter 7.04.
