Historic-Cultural Monuments
Spotsylvania County designates historic landmarks and Historic Overlay Districts through its Historic Preservation Commission and board of supervisors, protecting sites with "historic, architectural or cultural significance." Eight named districts are already designated in the zoning code, from the Spotsylvania Courthouse Historic District to the Tubal Furnace Archeological Site, each subject to added design review.
