Washington County treats any structure that has become dangerous for further occupancy because of sanitary defects as a Public Health Nuisance under Ordinance No. 165. The Department of Public Health and Environment can order the owner to abate it within 10 working days, then recoup cleanup costs and refer the case for a misdemeanor charge.
