Skateboarding Rules

Chapter VI, Section 12 of Washington County's Parks Ordinance No. 218 defines 'skating' to include skateboards and bans it in conservation areas entirely, limits it in parks to Director-designated trails, forbids skating on park roadways, and requires a prudent, safe pace.

It shall be unlawful for any person to: a. skate in a conservation area; b. skate in a park or park facility, except on trails designated by Director, c. skate in a park except in a prudent and careful manner and at a speed that is reasonable and safe regarding the safety of the operator and other persons in the immediate area; or d. skate on a roadway within a park.

Outdoor Smoking Restrictions

Washington County bars smoking or vaping within 100 feet of any park beach, playground or fishing pier, inside park buildings, and in any area the Parks Director additionally designates off-limits, under Parks Ordinance #218, Chapter III, Section 2.

It shall be unlawful for any person to use any form of tobacco or electronic cigarette product within 100 feet of any beach or playground, fishing pier, inside any park building or structure, and in locations as designated by the Director.

Public Marijuana Use

Washington County bans smoking, vaporizing, possessing or consuming cannabis flower, cannabis products, hemp edibles or hemp-derived products in any park or conservation area unless a Use Permit allows it, and separately bans growing, selling or distributing them, under Parks Ordinance #218, Chapter III, Section 3.
