Washoe County Code 70.392 makes it a misdemeanor to sleep on a public sidewalk, road, or highway within 150 feet of any crosswalk, street intersection, or school in the unincorporated county. Sheriff's deputies enforce the ban to keep encampments and obstructions away from high-traffic pedestrian crossings. Outside those buffer zones the sleeping clause does not independently apply, though other obstruction rules can still reach blocked sidewalks.
