York County has no municipal permit for door-to-door peddlers; South Carolina instead regulates the transaction itself. Under S.C. Code § 37-2-501, any consumer credit sale a seller personally solicits at a residence is a 'home solicitation sale,' and § 37-2-502 gives the buyer an automatic right to cancel until midnight of the third business day after signing, no matter what the seller's contract says.
