Cass County, MO Curfew Laws: Juvenile Curfew (2026)

for any person under the age of seventeen found in or upon a public place or way within Cass County. Four built-in exceptions cover minors accompanied by a parent or guardian, minors on an errand or other legitimate business directed by a parent or guardian, minors engaged in gainful, lawful employment during the curfew hours or traveling to or from that job, and minors attending or traveling to or from an organized religious or school activity. The section does not itself criminalize the minor's presence with a fine; instead, its enforcement mechanism runs through the parent.

Under Subsection B, a parent, guardian or other adult with care and custody of the minor may not knowingly permit the minor to violate the curfew. Under Subsection C, a Law Enforcement Officer who finds a minor violating the curfew must first warn the minor to desist immediately and report the violation up the chain, which triggers a written notice served on the parent or guardian describing how the section was violated; only after that first notice does a parent who knowingly permits a further violation become guilty of an offense.

Subsection D allows that written notice to be served either by leaving a copy at the parent's residence with anyone over seventeen found there, or by mailing it to the parent's last known address. 00, with each day of a continuing violation a separate offense. 00 fine schedule.
