Corvallis, OR Curfew Laws: Juvenile Curfew (2026)

Section 5.03.070.010 of the Corvallis Municipal Code defines a minor as anyone under 18. Section 5.03.070.020 then bars a minor from being in or upon any street, highway, park, alley, or other public place during the restricted hours unless accompanied by a parent, guardian, or another person 21 or over with lawful custody; engaged in a lawful pursuit that requires the minor's presence in public during those hours; or emancipated under state law. Violating this section is a Class B Infraction. Section 5.03.070.030 sets the restricted hours themselves: 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights, and midnight to 6:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, except that during June, July, and August the curfew is midnight to 6:00 a.m. every night, collapsing the weekday and weekend hours to the later start time all summer.

Section 5.03.070.040 goes further and separately penalizes a parent, guardian, or other custodian who knowingly allows a minor to be out during those hours, a Class A Infraction, on top of any citation the minor receives. Section 5.03.070.050 gives a minor an affirmative defense for direct travel to or from employment, school, religious activities, theater and sports events, and other associational activities that require being in public during the restricted hours, with the burden of proof on the minor or the person claiming the exemption.
