Corvallis, OR Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Corvallis' baseline on-street parking rule is short but does two separate jobs. Section 6.10.040.010(1) says that wherever the road authority has placed parking space markings, on a public street, in a public lot, or in a public parking structure, a driver may not stand or park a vehicle except at the marked direction and within a single marked space, unless the vehicle's own size or shape makes that impossible. Subsection (2) adds a life-safety rule: if an owner or driver discovers their vehicle is parked immediately in front of or close to a building the Fire Department has been summoned to, they must move it right away unless Police or Fire officers direct otherwise.

Rather than re-writing every state parking offense into City code, Section 6.10.040.030 adopts the parking offenses defined in the 2021-2022 Oregon Vehicle Code wholesale, so violations like blocking a driveway, parking against the flow of traffic, or parking too close to an intersection or fire hydrant, all defined at the state level, are enforceable as City violations and punished under City law rather than requiring a separate State citation. That state-law incorporation sits alongside Corvallis' own specific bans in Section 6.10.040.040, including selling merchandise from a parked vehicle, parking in a way that blocks traffic lanes, and the yard-parking and 48-hour rules covered elsewhere in the Chapter.

Corvallis Police Department officers issue citations for any of these violations, and Section 6.10.080.010 sets the penalty across Chapter 6.10 at a fine of up to $150.00, community service, and/or impoundment of the vehicle, decided by the Municipal Court on conviction.
