Corvallis, OR Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Corvallis Municipal Code Section 6.10.040.060 limits use of any designated loading zone to the expeditious loading, unloading, pickup or delivery of materials, freight or passengers, and only during the hours the loading-zone signage is in effect. Stopping for any other purpose, including simply parking while running an errand, is unlawful the moment the posted hours apply. The code sets hard time caps for unmetered loading zones: passenger and personal-baggage loading or unloading cannot exceed 15 minutes, and freight or materials loading or unloading cannot exceed 30 minutes or the actual time reasonably needed to finish the job, whichever is shorter.

A separate passenger loading zone rule at Section 6.10.040.070 applies the same expeditious-use standard specifically to passenger drop-off and pickup areas. The Corvallis Police Department enforces both provisions along with the rest of Chapter 6.10's parking rules. Violations carry the Chapter 6.10 penalty set out in Section 6.10.080.010: a fine up to $150.00, community service, and/or impoundment of the vehicle involved, and the same fine cap applies to any violation of the state motor vehicle statutes the chapter adopts by reference. A driver who exceeds the 15- or 30-minute window, or who uses the space for any purpose other than active loading, unloading, pickup or delivery, is subject to citation the moment an officer observes the overstay or misuse.
