Corvallis, OR Parking Rules: Overnight Parking (2026)

Corvallis' overnight and long-term parking rule is built around the idea of a 'block face' rather than a flat calendar limit. Section 6.10.040.040(4) makes it unlawful to park on any street, alley, right-of-way, parkway, off-street public parking facility, or other City-owned or controlled property for a period exceeding 48 hours. The clock starts, under subsection (4)(a), when the vehicle is parked in a particular limited-time zone on a particular block face, and subsection (4)(c) defines 'block face' as either side of a street between two intersecting streets, or either side of a cul-de-sac street between the cul-de-sac and an intersecting street; a public parking facility counts as its own block face, but an alley never does.

Subsection (4)(b) lets the clock reset if the vehicle moves to and parks on a different block face, at which point a fresh 48-hour period begins. Section 6.10.040.040(3) applies the identical 48-hour ceiling to parking on private property without the consent of the owner or person in lawful possession, closing off the workaround of moving a vehicle from the street onto a driveway or lot without permission. Beyond the 48-hour rule, Section 6.10.040.040(1) already bars parking in an alley for more than 15 consecutive minutes in an hour except for actual loading or unloading, and subsection (8) caps parking in the Downtown free customer parking area at 24 hours, a tighter limit than the citywide 48-hour rule.

Corvallis Police Department officers enforce all of these limits, and Section 6.10.080.010 sets the penalty for any violation of Chapter 6.10 at a fine of up to $150.00, community service, and/or impoundment of the vehicle.
