Corvallis, OR Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Corvallis Municipal Code Section 6.10.040.040(6) prohibits parking a vehicle on private property in any yard that is adjacent to or visible from a street, unless the vehicle sits on a driveway or parking area paved with concrete, asphalt or another hard surface approved by the City Engineering Division, or on a gravel surface that was already improved before February 7, 1980. The rule defines 'vehicle' broadly to include any vehicle under the Oregon Vehicle Code whether or not it is operable, which reaches RVs, trailers and boats parked in a front yard on bare ground or unapproved gravel.

Separately, Section 6.10.040.050 bars parking any trailer, as defined by ORS 801.560, or any part of one, on a street in a residential zone anywhere within the City limits; it is a defense only if the trailer was there solely to load or unload goods, materials or equipment at an abutting property with no other access. Corvallis Police Department officers enforce both sections as part of Chapter 6.10's general parking rules, and a vehicle that racks up citations under Section 6.10.040.040 on more than ten days in a calendar month can be designated a nuisance vehicle under Section 6.10.040.120, subjecting it to immediate removal under the towing chapter. The Chapter 6.10 penalty in Section 6.10.080.010 caps fines at $150.00 and authorizes community service and/or impoundment.
