No person less than seventeen (17) years of age shall be present at or upon any public assembly, building, place, street, or highway at the following times unless accompanied and supervised by a parent, legal guardian or other responsible person at least eighteen (18) years of age who is approved and authorized by the minor's parent or legal guardian... A. Between one (1) minute after 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Saturday; B. Between one (1) minute after 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday; C. Between 11:00 p.m. on Sunday to Thursday, inclusive, and 6:00 a.m. on the following day.

Full Breakdown

County Code Sec. 20-60 makes it unlawful for anyone under 17 to be in any public assembly, building, place, street, or highway during set curfew hours unless accompanied by a parent, guardian, or an approved adult supervisor at least 18, or unless working a job Illinois law allows a minor to hold. The curfew runs from 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. heading into Saturday and into Sunday, and from 11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday nights to 6:00 a.m. the next day.

Violations & Fines

Fine of $10 to $1,000 per offense; each night a minor is out past curfew counts as a separate violation. Parents or guardians who knowingly let a minor violate curfew face the same fine range under Sec. 20-61.
