Eden Prairie, MN Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 9.04 sets the general rule for every city park: open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., closed 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., unless the Director of Parks and Recreation posts different hours at a specific park. Two lakefront parks, Miller Park and Round Lake Park, keep later summer hours, staying open until 10:30 p.m. from April 1 through October 31, before reverting to the standard 10:00 p.m. close the rest of the year. Subd. 4 lists the conduct that becomes a petty misdemeanor once a park is closed: camping or erecting a tent or shelter (item A, unless it is a fish or dark house on park waters or permitted), swimming or using a beach or play area while it is closed (item B), docking or storing a boat other than a City-owned boat while the park is closed (item L), and parking or leaving a motor vehicle in a parking area after closing, or leaving an unattended boat trailer in a parking space (item K).

The prohibition on entering any area posted as closed, such as a ball field, sliding hill, playground or swimming beach, under item AI also runs on the same petty-misdemeanor basis. Enforcement falls to Eden Prairie Police, since the Parks and Recreation Director's role is limited to posting hours and issuing permits, not citing violators.
