Palmdale, CA Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

PMC § 8.24.240, titled "Hours," sets a citywide default closure window for Palmdale's parks: no person may enter, be, or remain in any park or any building within a park between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. The two carve-outs are people camping under the overnight camping permit process in PMC § 8.24.260, and anyone holding written permission from the Parks Director. The Director retains authority to change the closure hours for any individual park from time to time, but must post the revised hours at that park's entrance, and once posted, all visitors must comply with the changed hours rather than the default 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. window.

This curfew sits inside Chapter 8.24's broader park-rules scheme, which the Director enforces under § 8.24.310, and which separately restricts alcohol, intoxication, vending hours and other conduct in parks. Overnight camping itself remains tightly limited: § 8.24.260 lets a person camp overnight only in a designated family-type camping area, or under a Director-issued permit to a youth or special-interest group, conditioned on the group being organized in good faith, supervised by an adequate number of responsible adults, and not interfering with the park's normal uses. Anyone violating the park chapter, including the after-hours rule, commits a misdemeanor under § 8.24.320.
